In Shounen Jump's newest issue, it was revealed that Dr. Stone will be receiving a TV anime adaptation courtesy of TMS Entertainment. The series is set to premiere in Summer 2019, and the first three cast members were also announced; the official Twitter account later revealed four more.The story centers around a boy named Senku Ishigami has awakened from his stone tomb after a 3000-year long cursed petrification on a post-apocalyptic Earth where almost all lifeforms have been turned to stone. Senku is determined to restore humanity to its former glory with his brilliance, as well as taking care of his friend Taiju Oki who woke up at the same time as him.
Dr. Stone is a huge hit with fans, who love watching the series' main character Senku use his scientific genius and engineering skills to build odd inventions that were nearly impossible two million years ago and are still pretty impressive today. Byakuya Ishigami is the father of Senku Ishigami, a scientist, and astronaut. He studied in America with Max Lillian, attending the same school as Kinro and Ginro In the Stone World arc, Senku stumbles upon a Moon Stone and recognizes it as something from modern times. He studies it and realizes that the world he lives in is a futuristic one, with perpetual electricity and even an artificial moon, assuming it must have existed since Pre-history. Dr Stone combines elements of action and comedy, perhaps best described as "Indiana Jones with science"

Dr Stone is the kind of cartoon that makes science fun for people who might otherwise find the subject dull or intimidating. It’s packed to the brim with facts and information, but it finds a way to explain its knowledge in an entertaining fashion. Senku is a tall, skinny and pale-skinned young man. He has dark hair done into a bowl cut with bangs framing his face and notably wild strands that stick out every which way. His eyes are uniquely multicolored with blue on the right side and green on the left.
